With the world famous Iron Bridge forming the backdrop, the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Festival is a great celebration of the area's designation as a World Heriage Site by UNESCO in 1986.

Local residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a large street market running parallel with the river along the Wharfage and offering a range of products.

The ironmen dance in the Welsh border tradition, while the The Severn Gilders women's team dance North West Morris dancing.

The Severn Gilders takes its name from the women who decorated China at the nearby Coalport works and each dancer wore a golden rose to signify this.

Both groups dance separately although they usually always appear together and many of the dancers from one team appear as musicians while the others dance.

The Ironmen and the Severn Gilders were formed in 1976 and have danced at festivals all over the country
