The time of the year that the Herons nest at Ellesmere and the Great Crested Grebes mate.

It was a great morning watching the Herons at first. There is a lovely cafe over looking the mere and Heron Island. So you can sit and watch them. Shropshire Wildlife Trust have a area inside the cafe area.

From there I went up to the Wood Lane Nature Reserve and on the look for the Grebes. They were quite away from the hides. It was great to catch them mating and doing the courting dance.

It is just fantastic to sit and watch the peaceful reserve and the all the other wild birds.
